I've always loved these delightful Dutch or German crowned heart box pendants-I'm not sure if they were betrothal or wedding presents, but they are sentimental treasures. This one is smaller than others I've seen & the perfect size to wear as a pendant (either on a cord or chain). I found it while shopping with my best friend in a splendid antique market in Paris, nestled with other fabulous hearts from other centuries.Thank goodness my friend speaks fluent French & helped me to purchase this beauty! It's in perfect condition, and opens to hold whatever you might need to carry-a lock of hair belonging to your loved one, headache tablets if your loved one is behaving in a particularly trying manner, a folded twenty dollar bill for cab fare..... Inside on the rim are German hallmarks for 800 silver & marks indicating it was made after 1886. This piece measures 1 & 3/4ths inches long by 1 & 1/4 inches wide by 5/8ths of an inch deep and is an absolutely gorgeous piece. Click here to buy this item at my Etsy store.
